"As soon as we and China dump the dollar, it will be the end of the US’ military might," Sergey Glazyev, Yalta, April 21, 2017
Who would have ever guessed that a riddle from some old forgotten Dixie cup would contain the answer to global peace and security? You know the one: "How do you stop an elephant from charging?" Answer: "Take away his credit card."
In retrospect, it was obvious. Just turn off the Petro Dollar printing machine. Regular RM readers know full well that such a day is coming.
In this week's interview by TASS [linked here] with one of Putin's economic advisors, the ever blunt Sergey Glazyev has again made no bones about it. While attending a conference in Yalta this past week, he showed that both he and his boss fully understand how to extinguish the increasingly insane policies of an out-of-control hegemon:
"The more aggressive the Americans are, the sooner they will see the final collapse of the dollar and by getting rid of the dollar this would be the only way for victims of American aggression to stop this onslaught. As soon as we and China dump the dollar, it will be the end of the US’ military might."
Mr. Glazyev further revealed that he just might be the one person in the world who hasn't been left dumbfounded by the apparent u-turn of a nascent American president who seemed, just three months ago, to have gotten off to such a promising start:
"I had no illusions about him, regarding any change in policy. First, America’s aggression around the world is rooted in its aspiration to preserve US hegemony when they have already yielded economic leadership to China."
"In objective terms, they are conducting a global hybrid war and in subjective terms, this war is aimed at us. Moreover, as it always happens when a global leader is changed, the war is for control over rimland nations. During WWI and WWII, Britain acted as an instigator in a bid to keep its global leadership. Now the United States is doing the same. And Trump expresses these interests."
Welcome Mat Set Out for India, Pakistan, Iran
While Sergey Glazyev was making those statements from Yalta, another Sergei, the calm, cool, and collected Sergei Lavrov, was busy tidying up some SCO details in Astana. The formal documents that will now admit India and Pakistan to the Shanghai Cooperation Organization are on their way to the respective heads of state.
TASS carried his statements as well [linked here]. Mr. Lavrov was glowing:
"After India and Pakistan become members, the SCO will include as many as 43% of the world’s population while its member states will account for 24% of global gross domestic product." Lavrov said that Friday’s meeting had been “the decisive stage of the preparations for the next SCO summit” scheduled to be held in Kazakhstan’s capital of Astana on June 8-9.
And then will come the cherry on the top [TASS linked here] -- Iran:
“Iran is next in line (for SCO membership). Many said so today. It has settled all issues related with UN Security Council sanctions,” Lavrov said. “Now it is in full compliance with SCO membership criteria. We hope that the heads of state will be able to consider the beginning of the procedure to make Iran a full-fledged member (at the SCO summit – TASS) in Astana in June.”
I find it just a tad laughable that while the world is being told to quake in great fear of some bogeyman detonation of a nuclear warhead sent with love from Tehran to Jerusalem, those lands that dot the Silk Road have other destructive buttons to push. Once Iran joins the SCO, and the oil market mechanisms from St. Petersburg to Shanghai to Tehran are all flipped to GO, a mighty big elephant in the North American room will hear these words:
"Your card has been declined. Care to try another?"
Addendum April 27, 2017
Today I stumbled onto this 16-year old conference that includes a speech given by Sergey Glazyev himself, in English, which is rare. This conference was held only four months before 9/11 on May 4, 2001. Readers of my "Angel Is Next" report will remember that the Russian economist, Dr. Tatyana Koryagina, made a presentation to the Russian Duma in June 2001 where she reported that a disastrous economic attack was headed America's way sometime later that summer. She further added:
There are international, "super-state" and "super-government" groups. In accordance with tradition, the mystical and religious components play extremely important roles in human history. One must take into account the shadow economy, shadow politics and the religious component, while predicting the development of the present financial situation.
Fast Forward to minute marker 36:40 to listen to Mr. Glazyev in his own words.
