Houthis Claim to Have Captured French Special Forces Joining in Saudi/UAE Attack on Yemen's Red Sea Port of Hudaydah

Al-Hudaydah also known in English as Hodeda, Hodeida, Hudaida or Hodeidah, is a port on the Red Sea and starving Yemen’s humanitarian lifeline to the world. It is also alleged to be a major conduit for Iranian missiles and ammunition to reach the Ansarallah or Houthis, the Zaidi Shi’a resistance that rules the capitol of Sana'a. The Ansarallah are fierce qat-chewing desert warriors, whose conservative Zaidi or ‘fiver’ branch of Shi’a Islam differs considerably from that of their Lebanese Hezbollah allies or the ‘twelver’ Shi’a practiced by their supposed puppetmasters in Iran. Nonetheless they have adapted the Iranian clerical regime’s revolutionary slogans of ‘Allah is great, death to America, death to Israel, victory for Islam’ adding to their slogan ‘a curse upon the Jews’.

For three years, the Houthis have waged an effective guerrilla war, inflicting thousands of casualties on Saudi Arabia’s lavishly funded and incompetent military since the Kingdom invaded its impoverished neighbor in 2015. If you believe that the petrodollar is the key to America’s ability to finance its massive deficits, then the Houthis are to the Anglo-American empire what the Afghan mujaheddin were to the late Soviet Empire — harbingers of its defeat and collapse.
