This week saw the former intelligence chiefs James Clapper and John Brennan repeat their attacks on the Trump presidency. Clapper, who infamously perjured himself in Senate testimony regarding NSA mass surveillance, declared to CNN that Trump is unfit for the office. Supposedly internal memos from John Brennan, the CIA director who helped cobble together a falsified intelligence assessment (half of which consisted of four year old gripes about Russia Today) based on the fake premise of Russian security services hacking the Democratic National Committee (DNC), were released in response to a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request. Legacy media outlets like Buzzfeed promoted Brennan's complaint that many members of Congress didn't take his and others fabrication of Russian hacking in support of Trump's election seriously -- omitting Brennan's well earned reputation in Washington as a liar who got caught spying on the U.S. Senate's report concerning CIA torture.
In addition to this pompous claptrap from Clapper and Brennan, Sen. Jeff Flake (R-AZ) declared Trump would likely face a GOP primary challenger in 2020. The infighting between the White House and Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, who failed to do budge Obamacare in cynical violation of every GOP platform promise, spilled into the papers. Most disheartening for Trump's America First and conservatarian base, the President committed to remaining in Afghanistan on an indeterminate timetable, after years of condemning the waste of American blood and treasure in that country.
Even though Trump started with the intent to Drain the Swamp, Washington appears to be drowning this Administration. An economic crash looms, perhaps hastened by a manufactured government shut down that the legacy media will inevitably blame on Trump and not the bipartisan do-nothing Congress. -- JWSRead More
