A Beautiful Mind: RIP Michael Rosecliff

It is said that there is a fine line between madness and genius, and this year we have now seen the untimely deaths of two individuals who rode along that razor's edge.  The two men I am speaking about were both game theorists, with the first (John Nash) being the pioneer, and the second (Michael Rosecliff) the prodigy who used this genre to create an application which both forecast future events, and measured how people react within the frequency of time, circumstance, and chaos. On Aug. 22 a note was posted on the ArcLight Institute's website that our friend and colleague Michael Rosecliff had taken his own life, and that the structure he had built, and which was his 'Sistine Chapel' achievement, was shutting down future operations and would only pass out older reports suggesting that the engine which drove the institute's forecasts has probably ended with him.

Attention ArcLight Subscirbers

It is with a heavy heart we must inform ArcLight readers, subscribers, and listeners of the following news. ArcLight Institute founder and creator of the Looking Glass software Michael Rosecliff made the decision this evening to end his own life for reasons that those who knew him are still unsure of. Those that knew Michael personally know he has a history with alcohol, and other recreational substances. However the constant stress and intensity associated with the designing and operating the LG software we can only assume was a major part of his decision. On behalf of the EA and co-developer of the LG software (I choose to remain nameless)… we hope that those who have been listening to Mikes radio broadcasts and reading his printed work have enjoyed it.

Those interested in ArcLight’s previous work can contact: We will be offering the previous publications for a very limited time.

Great achievers are often haunted by demons only they can understand, and which are a consequence of high intelligence.  Michael was extremely driven, often working 16-20 hours per day studying, analyzing, and documenting important information that his subscribers... nay, that the world needed to know from the algorithm he built to perform these actions.

Our friend will be sorely missed by V, myself, the entire Rogue Money Staff, and many here who have learned a little about Rosecliff over the past year.  And perhaps like with Moses, or others in history who delivered people to the edge of the promised land, they knew that what was coming was for a future generation, and that their passing represented the ending of one era, and the beginning of the next.

Dylan Thomas

Do not go gentle into that good night, Old age should burn and rave at close of day; Rage, rage against the dying of the light.

Though wise men at their end know dark is right, Because their words had forked no lightning they Do not go gentle into that good night.

Good men, the last wave by, crying how bright Their frail deeds might have danced in a green bay, Rage, rage against the dying of the light.

Wild men who caught and sang the sun in flight, And learn, too late, they grieved it on its way, Do not go gentle into that good night.

Grave men, near death, who see with blinding sight Blind eyes could blaze like meteors and be gay, Rage, rage against the dying of the light.
